Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems can significantly improve your efficiency. Whether working in a group of editors or even working individually, finding the clip you want from years worth of information can really slow you down. In fact, many times you just give up. And what about collaborating and working on a single project with multiple people? Most of the time, we don’t even try.
So to help you get started in the world of DAM, ProMAX has configured three solutions that cater to small studios, mid-size studios, and large studios. Each solution can be personally configured to your needs, which makes having a digital asset management system from ProMAX almost a requirement.

MXFserver Solution
Ideal for a large studio with 20 or more editors with a
generous budget.
Enabling increased flexibility, performance and cost savings through the use of an IBM open, standards-based shared storage post-production environment, the MXFserver solution provides the speed and performance that media professionals demand, while also streamlining steps for common workflow requirements in a shared storage environment. MXFserver® hosts Avid®, Apple® and Adobe® edit systems without transcoding. MXFserver.net is a way to get your editing platform running on proven and open IBM® IT networks.
- MXFserver is transparent to edit systems, providing storage and processor power as you size it. But it is not just that, it takes care of your editing network needs. Setting up editing in projects, creating virtual shares for high speed simultaneous working, being able to share and merge media without copying or converting. All that without extra software. It’s all in there.
- MXFserver is project-based with the interface showing you the amount of storage in use and your quota. Adding extra storage is done by the IT-support operator or the client themselves and shows on the projects budget. But it can also be downsized and put back in the general storage pool.
- MXFserver is serving MXF containers regardless of the codecs inside. It monitors, processes and controls MXF streams without transcoding. But with direct connecting, sharing, merging and scripted archiving.
- MXFserver can move MXF containers or editing projects as you may want to call them to other disk units or archiving. Without the need of additional programs, without needing a NLE. It's all inside.
- Media Management is done through the Administrator Menu. It organizes user rights and quota based on the structure of your company. For IT purposes user rights can be synchronized with Microsoft® ActiveDirectory™. You may set the amount of storage and manage clients, storage quotas, redundancy and track scheduling for each business unit or program. Additional storage can be added and removed as needed.
